LATEX@dd: Introduction
At these pages you will find information about using the LATEX
formatting system. If you think there's anything missing, tell me!

- Under Quick start you will learn how to quickly get started.
- Under emacs is some information about using emacs in the
best way to write LATEX documents.
- Under Documentation you will find links to some good texts
about using or learning LATEX.
- Under Help files you will find some templates and
additional packages that will come in handy when you write reports and
other texts.
- Under Macros I hope there will be a lot of macros that you
people have written.
- Under Hints you will find a lot of good hints on how to
enhance the quality of your documents.
- Under Questions you can read the most common questions
asked to LATEX@dd.
- Under Links you will find some links to different LATEX sites.

and not Word, FrameMaker etc.
News!
- The new Emacs will automatically load the package auctex, which means that you can remove some unnecessary stuff in your .emacs. Go to the emacs page to check out what you need in your .emacs.
- To convert your dvi files to pdf format use the program dvipdfm
- All documentation is now available in Acrobat
PDF format.
- Greger och Anders have put together some logging templates for
use in e.g. Expfys or Elmät B. You will find them among the help files
- The manuals are now also physically available. You can find them in the
part of dd where the macs used to be.
- Swedish spelling is now installed in emacs. First choose Swedish
with Edit->Spell->Select Svenska8 and check your document
with Edit->Spell->Check Buffer.
- Swedish hyphenation should work now. You can always suggest
hyphenations with \- inside the words.
- LyX, a special LATEX editor, is now installed at dd. Type
lyx to run it. Documentation is available inside the program.
